Abstract

Under the auspices of the United Nations, the Paris Climate Agreement of December 2015 has agreed international cooperation of the countries of the world on collective responsibility, change of consciousness and fight against climate change. At the end of the nineteenth century, accelerated industrial development and excessive exploitation of natural resources, in the first place by combustion of fossil fuels as well as cutting of forests for the needs of the industry, accelerated warming of the planet by accumulating the concentration of gases in the atmosphere. Along with the adoption and signing of the Paris Climate Agreement, the European Union, as one of the signatories, also worked on the adoption and implementation of its Environmental Directives that obligate Member States to achieve results in this field as well as to bring the law of the member states of the European Union closer. Currently, according to the results and engagement with the fight against climate cha...nge, the European Union is considered to be the world’s leading. Although the Republic of Serbia is not yet a full member of the European family, by adopting programs implemented by the European Union in the field of environmental protection, all according to chapter 27 in the accession negotiations with the European Union, there are a number of tasks in Serbia, in the legal regulation and approximation of legal solutions with the current law of the European legislation.
